China's Smartphone Giant Huawei Releases BITCOIN CASH Wallet In App Store, Pre-Installed On All New Smartphones

Lots of people are reporting that Huawei is pre-installing a "Bitcoin Wallet" on all its smartphones, which makes it sound like the wallet only supports Bitcoin BTC.
In reality, Huawei is adding the BTC.com wallet to its new App Gallery, pre-installed on all Huawei smartphones.
And the BTC.com wallet (owned by Bitmain & Jihan) supports both Bitcoin BTC & Bitcoin Cash. It is the first crypto wallet to be listed on Huawei's app store.
This will further make it a 2-horse race between BTC & BCH, which is what we want, since median transaction costs for Bitcoin BTC are 20-200 times more expensive than for Bitcoin Cash.
...BTC.com said in a statement that it was difficult for Chinese consumers to have access to a cryptocurrency app of any kind as Google's app store is blocked in China. The firm's wallet only supports bitcoin and an offshoot of the world's largest cryptocurrency called bitcoin cash.
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/11/huawei-adds-btc-com-cryptocurrency-wallet-to-appgallery-app-store.html
...The companies want to usher in “millions of new cryptocurrency users” and make it easy for them to send or receive BTC and BCH among friends. Consumers can also join a bitcoin mining pool that’s backed by industry leader Bitmain.
https://www.ccn.com/huawei-to-debut-bitcoin-wallet-btc-com-in-mobile-payments-push/
“BTC.com is democratizing Bitcoin by breaking down barriers to entry and ensuring new users can access Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash in a simple, secure and trusted environment,” said Alejandro de la Torre, VP of Business Operations, BTC.com. “China is almost a ‘cashless economy’ today, accounting for almost 62% of all global mobile transactions. This dwarfs the estimated $49.3 billion in total mobile payment transactions in the United States in 2017, which highlights the amazing opportunity cryptocurrencies have in replacing fiat currency as the currency of choice for mobile payments. Huawei is leading the way in terms of adoption of blockchain technologies, and we’re excited to bring BTC.com to Huawei’s user base for the first time.”

6 Factors to Consider Before Join in a Bitcoin Mining Pool

submitted by raaner12 to Altcoinss [link] [comments]

[Discussion] If all Chinese bitcoin mining were to suddenly stop, what do you think would happen to bitcoin? Would it be a good time to join a mining pool?

I imagine it would effect mining profitability because hash rate would suddenly decrease by 70ish%. Or am I way off? Perhaps it could also indirectly mess with the price by effecting demand? Would love to hear your opinions and/or speculations. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday!

The integrity of the Bitcoin system ultimately depends on decentralizing of the power of computation. So, shouldn't everyone at least be encouraged to join a mining pool?

In other words, there's too much emphasis on ASICs and FPGAs and multi-GPU rigs. Isn't it important for the little guy to contribute to the system as well?
Shouldn't that be encouraged? Shouldn't pooling be built into clients for this very purpose?
